“A ONE STOP OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE TONGAN CULTURE, PAST AND PRESENT…”The Tongan people are proud of their independent past and the fact that they have been able to preserve and continue to practice their “Tongan Culture” in everyday life.The Centre provides residents & visitors alike, with the opportunity to see the history, meet talented artists, see demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, taste the delicious food and join in a famous Taumafa “Kava” ceremony.Visitors to the Centre can make their own way through the various displays or enjoy informative guided tours of the Botanical Gardens and the adjoining National Museum. Do not miss the Tapa making and Mat Weaving demonstrations and learn the native way to climb a coconut palm and husk the fruit. The Centre can also organize information and tours of the significant sites on Tongatapu, like the mysterious “Triathlon”, the Royal Tombs and the Royal Palace, as well as transfers and accommodation on the outer Islands.
